Good day,
We love Fairmont hotels. Are there rewards credit cards for the chain? If more than one, which do folks prefer?
Thanks!

Don't think so, other than Cdn Amex Plat holders seem to have fast track to PLT.

There's not even anything like Fairmont points for redemption. So no, there is none.

Amex or Areoplan allow you to redeem points for "Ovation Certificates" which are good for one night at a Fairmont

Unfortunately thereīs no real reward credit card associated with Fairmont.
However there are several ways of getting Fairmont-related rewards from credit cards.
1) Capitol One points
Capitol One has their own point system. Points can redemmed for cash, various types of gift cards, merchandise etc. AFAIK the ratio of points required for a Fairmont GC is pretty good: Redeeming Capitol One points for Fairmont GCs gives you the aquivalent of 1%-2% cashback which is a pretty good deal.
2) "regular" mileage earning credit cards: gift cards
Basically some FF program allow you to redeem for Fairmont gift cards. For instance, you could redeem something like 13000 Aeroplan points for a $100 Fairmont GC. This generally isnīt a good deal unless you have an orphaned account with a small number of miles which are about to expire.
3) miles for award stays at Fairmonts
You can use miles from various FF programs to redeem for award nights at Fairmont. This probably is one of the least favourable redemptions right after getting a new toaster, so basically forget about it.
4) Fairmont ovation certs
Fairmont ovation certs are a great invention IMO. Basically some CC loyalty programs allow you to redeem points for ovation certs which are valid for one night in a Fairmont room incl. breakfast. All Fairmont properties are grouped into four (?) different categories depending on their standard/average price (e.g. ovation cert for the Fairmont Edmonton requires less points than an ovation cert for the Fairmont Orchid)
Considering rooms can often cost $400-$600/night and the ovation certs have very few restrictions, this can be a pretty good deal.
AFAIK points from the following loyalty programs can be redeemed for Fairmont ovation certs: Capitol One, Dinerīs Club, AMEX Membership Rewards (note that reward options vary by country: e.g. you may be able to redeem points earned with a US AMEX card, but not points earned with a UK AMEX card)
Hope this helps!
