Of the US airlines participating in Hilton Hhonors reward exchange, AA is the only one that transfers miles to Hhonors 1 for 1. All the others transfer miles at 1 for 2. (ie: 1 mile gets two Hhonors points)

No... the way it works is:

AA > Hilton 1:1
Dl > Hilton 1:2
Hilton > DL 10000:1500
Hilton > DL 20000:3500

So, you can convert 10,000 AA miles to 1500 Delta miles. Most US airlines get you 2 Hilton points per airline mile, so you can convert, say, 5000 UA miles to 1500 DL miles by this route.

Under almost no circumstances do you want to move miles FROM AAdvantage, because the exchange rate is so bad. But moving miles TO AAdvantage is advisable, because the rate is better than offered for any of the other programs in the Reward Exchange. So if, for example, you had an equal number of orphan miles in United, American, and Continental, your best bet would be to transfer the United and Continental miles to American.
