Hilton HHonors - Account Merge/UA Nights Questions - Help!
I recently had my fiance's HHonors account merged into mine and had a couple of questions that the CSRs at Hilton were unable to answer.
1. We were both signed up for the UA nights promotion, recieving Hilton points for UA flights, however now that her HHONORS Number is no longer valid I fear that the points she had earned to date flying that hadn't posted will be lost forever. Anyone know how to get Hilton/UA to post these? And a follow up to the first question..Does anyone know if you can register a single combined(husband/wife)HHonors account to recieve the UA nights offer points from both FF accounts or does Hilton or UA forbid this?
Thanks
Tsedg

I am having the same problem. My wife and I have a merged Hilton account, but only my UA miles are showing up as points in the Hilton account.
What I plan to do is wait until Sept 30th (end of the UA nights promotion, then have my wife print out from the UA website all her UA activity from the beginning of the program (June 1, 1999?) and send it to both Hilton and the UA 1K desk. I think/hope they will post the points.
Good luck,
Jeff

The approach described by JeffB will likely work.
My husband and I have had a mutual account for years. I have found that when we are traveling together and staying in the same room they will not credit both UA accounts. It would be the same if we didn't have mutual account so I have no problem with that.
I don't know that I would recommend a mutual account. Everything for the account shows up in his name. Lately when I have been checking in, even though I made the reservation and the credit card holding the reservation is in my name I have been told that only he could check in or that they have to see his identification. I have gotten around it but only through exhausting discussions or talking to the manager.
When we were checking in using a point stretcher certificate they would not accept it unless he signed it in their presence. Fortunately we were traveling together and it only meant a 20 minute wait until he came in from parking the car. If we had not been together I do not know how they would have resolved it.
It might help if I write a special note when making online reservations or call reservations and point out that I am making the reservation as the invisible party of the mutual account and that I will be checking in in my name and do not want to have difficulty. I haven't tried it but will if I remember. It is unfortunate that having the mutual account seems to require making extra efforts like having to copy all UA activity and submit it.

I do believe the Miles Plus Points promo runs May 1, 1999 thru Sept. 30, 2000.

It sounds as though she may need to sign up for the promotion again using her new number.
My husband and I have a combined HH membership and we have had no problems with both our UA flights posting to the one account.
At one point, I remember hearing that the UA Nights offer was extended. Not sure if that means until Sept 30th or Dec 31st.

The original promotion expired 5/31/00 and was extended until 9/30/00. I hope they extend it again as I think its one of the best offers in recent years.
