Hilton HHonors - Atten: HHONORS management bigwigs

I've just reached Diamond. I am horrified to note that there is no 'seperate' phone number to call the account centre. Which means, we, priveleged few of the Diamond status, have to wait in line on the phone as other members. Which sometimes could take up to 30 minutes.
If Hyatt has a seperate Diamond line for its top members, and the expedited line routes reservations or customer relations queries quickly, why can't HILTON HHONORS??

Guy:
actually, Hilton DOES have a separate number, but it is NOT KNOWN by the reservations folk...you'll have to get it from a supervisor in the service center. Also, it too has long wait times often, just like the regular number...but it DOES exist.

10:29:13am NY time - Called the general number 1-800-548-8690. Heard a recording that there would be a 2 minute wait.
10:32:40am NY time - Carol from HHonors picked-up and asked for my HHonors number.

I saw the 800 #, and it reminded me of my 22 min wait on the 972 # last week. I dialed 800 etc and it was answered in about 7 nice seconds. Inbelievable!

It makes more sense for them to prioritize the #800 calls, because THEY pay for you to sit on hold. If you call on the #972 YOU pay for the privilege. (I have never waited more than a minute or 2 on the Starwood Platinum line, and its a one-stop shopping #, from account inquiries to reservations, to anything...)

Corporations usually pay flat fee for the #800 calls, so there is no incentive to prioritize those calls. And I must agree with NJDDavid and MisterNice - waiting time decreased dramatically in the last few weeks.

2:34:40pm NY time - Kenyata from HHonors picked-up and asked for my HHonors number.
(I told her she had a wonderful name)
I'll make a few more calls over the next few days and report them here. I don't want to tie up the lines when people really need to get through.
There's just been a WHOLE lot of Hilton bashing on these boards of late, and while I'm also quick to criticize them when they have problems, somehow I think there's something rotten here.
The calls are honest, and I'll honestly report what I find...If anyone's interested to try and report them as well, please do so.
Hopefully, we will find this is now a non-issue, stop talking about it, and concentrate on other improvements we want HHonors to make.

I work in the telecom industry.
Toll Free service is sold by the minute. I know of no major carrier that offers a flat fee for blocks of time.
It is, however, very cheap now. I have seen rates as low as $0.02 per minute. It is still per minute and thus a variable expense, hence the need to prioritize.

TW -- My employer had an arrangement for a flat fee toll-free numbers, but I'm not really sure who the provider was.
