I made an award reservation on June 16 for a stay in Nov. I never received a written confirmation for the reservation. I mailed in my award certificate request form on June 19 (I had to mail it because I was including a 20,000 mile Gold VIP discount certificate.)

I have yet to receive the certificate so early this week I e-mailed the Hhonors service desk asking about my award request. I have yet to hear from them.

I requested an award back in 1999 and received a written confirmation in about 5 days and my award certificate in about 10 days.

Has anyone else noticed the decline in Hilton customer service?

I requested a reward two weeks ago via fax, and the points still haven't been deducted from my account. I need it by August 4th, so I am getting a little worried. In addition, the web site is frequently unavailable due to "server too busy". I hope things improve soon !

I requested to award certs via phone last
week. HHonors got them done promptly. The
confirmation and both award certs arrived
today via USPS - three letters. Note to
Hilton: One envelope and one stamp
could have done the job ...

HHassles has problems responding to emails
in a timely fashion. Almost six weeks ago
I sent an email regarding missing points.
About three weeks later I got an email
reply saying it'll take another three weeks
go handle the missing points.

I sent an email message to HHonors for an inquiry on June 10. I got a computer-generated reply, saying it will be answered by staff. It was never replied. So I emailed again July 10 to ask if they've got the previous message. They responded the next day, apologizing and HHonors is ''currently backed up with e-mail inquiries'' but they will reply ''in order.''

Never heard from them yet, for sure.

I don’t understand why hilton still need to mail certs. For an award stay .. why don’t they just do it electronically, like Starwood?

Early this year I called starwood to use points for a free night .. the points were deducted and the reservation was made while I was on the phone .. after 1 hour I got to the hotel .. my reservation was their indicating $0.00 rate ..

No letters, no e-mail , no ups, no hassle.

Good luck,

I tried to find out how many points a embassy suite hotel is, it took 10 minutes of searching the hotel info still couldn't find it. So I called them I was told to hold 6 minutes. My question is why don't they mail us a book with the hotels and where they fall for points. This merger was 7 months ago. And then I love how they failed to tell us point strecher's were going up, I found out about it at flyertalk. A great program going downhill.
I have booked 5 hotel stays at Sheraton in Salk Lake Albuquerque and Portland.

I don't see any <g> - so I guess that you
are serious eh? Are you sure that you want
to trust *Hilton* to implement an I/T soln
for awards? Is that your final answer?

Given the troubles with points, miles,
bonuses, email, website & (phone) hold times;
I would prefer that they just stick to a
paper based system. I can just imagine
showing up a Waikoloa for two weeks and
being told, "reservation? what reservation?
you don't have a reservation! award? what
award? we did not issue an award for this
stay - please pay $400/nite.

I recently transferred miles to Hilton HHonors from UA, DL and AA.

Now get this:
- after 17 days, the UA miles which transfer directly from United still have not posted to my Hilton account.
- the DL miles which were sent as certificates from DL and which in turn have to be sent to Hilton have already been posted.
- the AA miles which like DL come in the form of certificates and were requested a week later have also posted.

I don't understand the delay with the UA miles specially since the miles were deducted from my UA account the same day they were requested.

Clearly, Hilton is still living in the stone age as far as information technology is concerned.

No, I'm not a Starwood employee. I am a Hilton Gold VIP Hhonors member who is wondering why it is taking so long to get my award certificate and why they won't respond to my inquiry.

I'm with Karen, I have been a Diamond for years, I would like to see them fix the problems. They knew they were merging several programs 8 months ago. They should have prepared better. To make us go search each hotel to see which category it is in,is wrong. To send out point stretcher's
but then have us look up each hotel is wrong. To raise the award level's without telling us we find out on our own through web flyer is wrong. I love Hilton with all the points and miles, does that mean everything else should fall apart.

Dr. PfP, Why do people with legitimate complaints against Hilton HHonors be suspected of being Starwood employees. And no, I am NOT a Starwood employee.
