Hilton HHonors - Adam - HHonors/AAdvantage Promos?

Adam,

The HH/AA promos still do not seem to be
reported correctly to AA. Specifically;

- HH/AA 2-Stay bonus of 2,000 AA miles

Unless I am mistaken, I thought this
promo ran throughout 2000. Am I
mistaken? They were accumulating
properly - then stopped in late March.

- AEPO (double AA miles for each stay)

I spoke with the HHSC. They advised
that they would 'fix' this. It seems
that they only applied it to one of
my stays.

Hilton had some promos tied in with USAirways. When I emailed Hilton about it they told me 'invalid promotion code'. Argh. It's in black and white in front of me. I cc:Ed Adam Burke on my reply.

Unfortunately this seems typical for Hilton -- I asked Hyatt and they replied the next day updating my account. Same with Marriott. Hilton took a month to tell me NO. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

The Tails You Win promotion, the one with AA offering 2000 bonus miles after every 2 stays, ran from January 3 thru March 31. A new promotion with AA, also offering 2000 bonus miles after every 2 stays, just started on July 4. The new promotion runs thru early September (sorry, don't have the exact date in front of me). The current promotion also has variations with airlines other than AA. For instance, I think with CO you get double miles and double points on every stay rather than the bonus miles after every 2 stays. The Hilton web site details the specifics for each airline.

As far as postings go, Hilton (or is it AA?) is still having problems getting the AA miles posted from the Tails You Win promotion. I am still owed 14,000 miles from that promo. I'm sure I will see those miles eventually, although I don't know when.

Hilton also owes me 8500 AA miles for being an AA Platinum member since that entitles you to double base miles per stay from 3/1/00 thru 2/28/01....But that is another story entirely.

ExPl angel has finally advised that the
mistake is on the AA end - and that I
should find another 15k miles in account
within 24 hours.

What happens when you had no status with AA beginning Jan 2000 and became a Platinum member recently? Would HHonors know of this - or AA for that matter?

In my experience, you must work to collect
these promo miles. AA wanted a copy of my
HH card faxed to them. They promised that
the bonuses miles would be posted within 48
hours. The 48 hours has lapsed - no miles
yet.

It seems like you ALWAYS have to work hard to obtain credit whenever AA is involved. And I hate their little automated postcards that say you didn't fly a segment when you did and have the boarding pass receipt to prove it. So, ask my why I haven't flown AA in a month of Sundays.
