Iberia Airlines Iberia Plus - Vueling operated Iberia flight earns miles with oneworld?

I am taking Iberia flight 5858 operated by Vueling. Can I earn miles with BA on this flight? The class is V and the flight is entirely within Europe, leading me to think that it should earn 100% miles with BA, but that is before taking into consideration the operator.

Thanx.

This question is better answered in either the BA forum or the oneworld one. But applying the usual rule(s) of thumb, given that Vueling is an LCC and not part of OW, I'd say your chances of getting miles are zero. You are correct in considering operating metal. In this case, nada.

No you can't, I had an Iberia flight operated from Vueling and I didn't get any. The only subsidiary you can get miles is Air Nostrum.

Here are the BAEC rules from BA.com

Good luck! Vueling is simply awful. There is no leg room whatsoever -- you'll have to try to sit sideways if the person in front decides to recline. I was lucky and got a row of three all to myself, but even so there was no way to sit comfortably. And as Vueling is not part of oneworld, there is no mileage credit and no mileage redemption. However, with an IB flight number the passenger's oneworld status is printed on the boarding pass and IB lounge access is granted (at least that's what happened with me when my IB flight was canceled and I was put on Vueling).

+1. Veuling is simply horrible! Took a short flight from Paris Orly to Barcelona and that was enough.

I do the same flights every 6 weeks between AGP and FRA on Iberia. Sometimes one of the flights will be operated by Vueling. To be honest, the planes are literally the same. I have seen no difference between them (right down to the type of seat). I always book an exit row and find the space acceptable for such short hops (the flight always goes through MAD).

I can't comment on the points... I just came back yesterday from one of these trips (and the last leg - MAD -> AGP - was Vueling) so I'll have to let you know. But as far as I recall I get points on my Iberia Card... but now you have me wondering!

IB Plus is different, as they have a relationship with Vueling.
As a result, IB Plus getting something is not a guide to other OW FFPs.

Given the recent transfer of a number of IB domestic flights to Vueling operation, this could have a big impact upon earning in other oneworld FFPs.
There could also be a further complication, as these *could* be IB flights, just operated by (and also codeshared with Vueling), or normal Vueling flights just codeshared with IB. [Hopefully the former, but I fear the latter.]

As an update to this, I did get my points for the Vueling flight BUT I did not get the promotional points I got for other flights on the journey (I get double points). A bit of a bummer, but it is only 10 points we are talking about... but, as I do this journey almost every month thats about 100 points a year!
In future I will definitely try and avoid legs that have Vueling operating them.

Hi,

Was just rebooked from:

IB5xxx operated by vueling from PMI to AMS

to

IB5xxx operated by vueling from PMI to BCN
IB5xxx operated by vueling from BCN to AMS

On the original itiniary my flights shopped up as 0 BA Miles and 0 Tier points, now the rebooked itiniary is showing as 268 miles and 20 tier points?

Is BA Executive club making a change to allow miles/tier points for IB operated by Vueling...... fingers crossed it does..

The pertinent issue is that, as UAPremExecflyer said previously, though Iberia affiliate Air Nostrum is a oneworld affiliate airline, Vueling is definitely not a oneworld affiliate airline; therefore, in many FFP schemes, flying an Iberia codeshare on Vueling would normally not earn miles / credit. YMMV if your FFP allows it, of course.

Vueling is like riding a little yellow school bus when it comes to leg room. Nada.

I would have prefered to stand the entire way from Venice to Barcelona.
