I just found a folio from a stay last November - Sacramento Arden West. I emailed Hilton afterward, and never received any reply. In fact, my Hilton stays had dwindled to nothing this year until last weekend because I haven't been particularly thrilled with some stays (though I actually had a pleasant stay in San Francisco). Some of the posts on here were encouraging about improved service/benefits, etc. I am a "comped" HH Gold this year.
Scenario - Checked in. (I believe the Gold status was already in my profile at this time). I asked if (1) an upgraded accomodation was available, and also, (2)that I had a "suite upgrade" certificate. He said "I'll take that" and he said he was giving us a suite, with access to the lounge, etc. (I didn't know that my status should have entitled me to that even without taking the cert). We arrived in the room, which was an average standard room. I called down to ask what happened to the suite. This room couldn't have been mistaken for any sort of "junior suite". It was a simple room. He insisted that this is a suite. To add to the joy, the lounge was closed, and as I look on the receipt now, I notice that the "breakfast voucher" didn't even cover fully the breakfast.
And so I emailed Hilton, asking at least for the wasted Certificate back, and received no reply. Basically, the clerk stole a certificate from me for absolutely no purpose. I had put this out of my mind, until I found the Folio this evening.
Has anything similar happened to anyone else here? Worth pursuing? It was bad enough that the hotel was inept, but I was disappointed that Hilton didn't reply.
