So the big 3-0 is this year. I want to go somewhere warm, sunny, and not Wisconsin or Maine for a week in early December. I guess I'm looking for something "friendly" for the Golfer and I to enjoy.
Suggestions?

I don't understand the last sentence (is this like a master/slave relationship your are in). But if you give us an idea of likes (beach, cities, etc.) and price range we might be able to give you some specifics. But top spots for warm weather:
Florida (Miami, FLL, Naples)
San Juan, PR
Costa Rica
Rio
Buenos Aires
Recife
Floranapolis
St Barts
Turks & Caico

Well the idea is to avoid gay unfriendly environments. Hence friendly places. Florida is out, been there too many times.

well there are plenty of gays in the previous post. it's not like someone suggested zimbabwe.
plus, if you don't like what you see, you're better off searching vs vetoing.

But if you give us an idea of likes (beach, cities, etc.) I personally prefer cities, it doesn't need to have a crazy nightlife but at least be interesting of some sorts. I would not mind in the least if there was a beach that could be visited for a day trip.
and price range
Airfare not a big deal. There's plenty of miles to use (heheh... I'll be flying on UA in first, he'll be on DL in Y).
Hotels, I'd like to keep it to about $150-200 per night.

Sounds like Buenos Aires might be your liking. A couple of things. First, unlike many other places in this world there is very little in the way of locales that can speak English. And the Spanish spoken in BA is very different than for example the Spanish spoken in Puerto Rico.
Second, there is no central gay area like Chelsea, WeHo, Boys Town, Wilton Manner-bars/clubs are spread out throughout the city.
But its a beautiful city, cheap particularly given the current state of the US dollar, and IIRC there is a beach thats about 90 minutes away by bus.

With my ex I spent a great week in Aruba (Bucuti Beach Resort (http://www.bucuti.com/)) some years ago. But it's not that much city-like.
I'll be in Cancun in november (Secret Silversands (http://www.secretsresorts.com/silversands/) and eventually Zoetry Paraiso (http://www.zoetryresorts.com/paraiso/)) with a bunch of friends. But not much of city around as well...
How about Singapore. I don't know about the weather there in december, but you'll have everything: city, recreational areas (rainforest), beach, entertainment...
On the other side: why not doing the opposite and have somme mulled wine that heats from the inside on some german/european christmas market if in december? :-:

Puerto Vallarta is a great warm getaway in December (Check out Casa Cupula!) Great gay nightlife and an okay beach.
If "The Golfer" is looking for a good time as well you might want to check out San Diego which has perfect weather, gay nightlife, beaches and some good courses.
And if golfing is more central, Phoenix might be an option as well. (Alas no beach)
And there is always Palm Springs, which has plenty of golfing, gay nightlife, and a quaint little downtown. You could do Los Angeles as a day trip.
FInally, if you haven't been to New Orleans. In early December, the weather is beautiful and they are just setting up for Christmas. A greta time to be down there.

There are no Cabana bois in Europe in December. Gonna cross that right off the list.
I'm liking the idea of South America. I should probably renew my passport tomorrow then.

If you do BA, I recommend a side trip to Mendoza, the wine region!
Also, last time I was there I saw ads for Gay Tango lessons! I didn't end up going but it did sound like it would be interesting!

You might consider Honolulu as well. You have the "city" and some gay life and easy access to beaches and golf courses. You would also have the option of going to more islands (Kauai, Hawaii, Maui..) to get a more Hawaiian experience.

But there might be sauna masters instead...
OK, but i have to admit a golfball would be hard to find in the snow.
