Caribbean - Air Force Once @ SJU, tuesday 14/June

Heads up to anyone traveling to, from or transiting through SJU this coming tuesday. Obama's visiting the island, and there will be 2 25-minute periods where the airspace will be closed (25 minutes before Air Force One lands, 25 minutes before it departs). I believe they will be 11:35-12noon, and 4:35-5pm.

Traffic jams will be the norm.

They just updated the estimates in the local news. 45 minutes in the morning/early afternoon and 45 minutes in the late afternoon, with vehicular access to Old San Juan completely cut-off while the president is there.

Also, for anyone flying out tomorrow, the Baldorioty de Castro Highway (the main airport highway), will be closed from 10:30am-12:30pm and again in the afternoon. Leave extra early, or find alternate routes.
