Le Club Accorhotels - Accor Favorite Guest Business [Master Thread]

According to the website the old Favorite Guest card is no more and has been replaced by the Favorite Guest Business card.

The new card is now linked to the elite status in A-Club which makes a lot more sense. Costs are €170 which for a Platinum customer makes sense when factoring the discounts on room rates.

Of course in good old Accor style you can't apply for the card with the same email address as you have on an existing A-Club account.:td: Why not offer a transition/upgrade? Or even better offer it to some customers free who spend a hell of a lot on Accor hotels based on their A-Club account? Happy to try for a year.....

Over to Accor.....

I have an FG card and was able to renew online automatically to the new card. They also took the number of points and nights from the previous year to give me Gold status immediately. Of course, I will get Platinum with my first stay!

Dear starflyergold,
Thank you for your suggestions. From now on, it is possible to upgrade your A|Club Loyalty card to the Accor Favorite Guest Business card. Please connect to your account on www.a-club.com then click on "My Account > My account".

Scroll down and you will see "Join for one of our subscription programs to benefit from discounts!". Click on "Accor Favorite Guest Business card" and you can easily upgrade your card. All the points will be transferred to the new Business card.

Please note that if your subscription to Accor Advantage Plus or ibis or Favorite Guest doesn't expire yet, you have to wait until the date of expiration before joining the Accor Favorite Guest Business program by contacting A|Club customer service (http://www.a-club.com/en/members/customer-support-classic.html)

Best wishes.

Hello,

I would love to share promotional codes with you but unfortunately I don't have any.

However, the Wednesday Deals may be of your interest : 50% off for last-minute weekend getaways in participating hotels in Europe if you book on Wednesday : http://www.accorhotels.com/hotel-cms/gb/last-minute-week-end-hotel/today.shtml

Have a nice day!

This may seem like a dumb question, but I currently have a reservation at the Novotel Nice Centre as I am attending an event at the adjoining convention center; therefore, the Novotel is the most convenient location. My question is regarding the Favorite Guest business program and their ""A room at the hotel of your choice, even if the hotel is full..." policy.

The Novotel has notified several people that reservation has been canceled because a large organization has requested booking most of the hotel. I've heard the hotel has canceled even pre-paid reservations. So far, my reservation is still in-tact; however, I fear I will be canceled soon. Unfortunately, now most of the hotels even remotely close-by are already booked.

My question is...if I join the Accor Favorite Guest Business program, will that guarantee they will not cancel my reservation? I'm curious what other people have experienced. I don't mind paying the Favorite Guest Business fee if it guarantees they will honor my reservation.

Since I reside in the States and rarely travel to Europe, I don't get the opportunity to stay at many Accor hotels. So, the Favorite Guest program is not something I would likely use except in this one instance. I would hate to purchase it, only to have my reservation canceled anyway.

Any feedback on the program would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Dear FridaCat,

Thank you for choosing Novotel. I'm sorry to learn that your reservation might be canceled. What are the dates of your stay?

In order to benefit from the specific advantages thanks to the Accor Favorite Guest card, you will have to cancel your booking and make a full-rate reservation at least 3 days before your arrival. Please note that prepaid rates are non refundable. Have you prepaid your room?

Best wishes,
Dieu Anh

Welcome to Flyertalk and the Accor A-Club forum FridaCat :)

Once a Favourite Guest customer you should be guaranteed a room (full rack rate) provided you book 3 days before arrival. Some hotels have exclusions for certain dates, you can check for them here (http://www.a-club.com/en/bod.html).

The T&Cs state:

If the hotel is unable to guarantee room availability, it is committed to obtaining accommodations for the Member or Cardholder at another nearby Accor hotel or at a hotel in an equivalent category. If it is necessary for the Member or Cardholder to stay at a hotel that does not belong to the Accor group, the hotel will reimburse the Member or Cardholder, for any difference in the cost of the first night and any related transportation fees, upon presentation of the corresponding receipts.

So in essence they could walk you but I think it would be unlikely.

I am since 3 or 4 years Accor Favorite Guest Card holder, and changed now to Accor Favorite Guest Business Card (Platin). About 9 weeks ago I got a mail that Accor will send out the Card in the next two weeks, but I didn't get one in my snail mail box.
I asked two times via the web form about my card, but did not get any answer. Usually the web form worked very well, and Accor replied quit fast.
Anyone the same experience, not getting this paid card and not getting any reaction from Accor?
I am a resident of Germany.

Regards,

M.B.C

Dear Accor and starflyergold, thank you for your advice. I will join Favourite Guest in hopes it will reduce my chances of cancelation. My reservation is not pre-paid, and I don't know if I can rebook at the rack rate, but I will try. The event is the last week of March 2012.

Accor Concierge, am I reading this correctly: The Favorite Platinum Guest Card offers upgrades only at Sofitel and Pullman, but not MGallery (unlike the standard (free) Platinum card)?

Yes, you read it correctly.
Please note that all Favorite Platinum Guest Card members can ask for upgrade* at Sofitel (including Thalassa sea & spa) and Pullman while only Gold and Platinum A|Club card holders can do so (at Sofitel (except Thalassa sea & spa), Pullman and MGallery hotels).

*upon request, and subject to availability

So I pay and get one chain less to upgrade with? Seems strange.

Yeah...very strange I think. It doesn't make any sense when you are already A|Club Gold and Platinum which has entitled you room upgrade in Sofitel, Pullman and MGallery; then when you apply and pay FG membership, you would lose room upgrade benefit in MGallery because you are now Favorite Guest Gold/Plat. :p

I believe that the T&C has mistypo on them as they forgot to mention MGallery as benefit. ;)

I thought that as well but if you look at the diagram on the website under pay cards it is very clearly 2 chains only when you pay, and 3 chains when you are on a free card (free is an odd term as I certainly spend lots per year)

HI
I'm a new AClub member that has achieved AClub Gold via Europcar.

If i convert my membership to Favorite Guest Business will I become a Gold member in that Scheme?

Also will I still be entitled to AClub Gold benefits, such as late checkout, upgrade etc?

Thanks

I am interested in getting an Accor Favorite Guest Business membership for 170 Euros, to be able to get the discounts when booking at Sofitel and Novotel mainly.

Could anyone please inform if there is any promo going on, website... where I could get this membership with a discount or with some additional features, or point me in the right direction ?

Thanks.
