Sale is on 16 Jun - 22 Jun for "50% off". Although I can't actually find rates that are double the "50% off" rates... Stays in most of July and all of August (for HKG, at least).

A-club members have "exclusive" early access, i.e. now. Just book it from the accor hotel website as per normal, quoting your membership number.

I am looking for HKG as well between July 8-11, I cannot see any dicounted rates.

I booked the BKK airport hotel executive room at a discount. This is great.

I think that Accor properties in HKG are hard-bargainer, I've found that they were also excluded from Advantage Plus supersale on last March. :td:

Ibis Sydney World Square for $AU44.50 some dates and Mercure Leblon Rio de Janiero for $110 are a couple of good rates.

Damn I've been waiting for this sale for months, and now a friend just asked me on a spontaneous trip to tokyo leaving end of the week. Mercure Ginza @ $97 would have been nice!


And we are also stopping over in HK for a few days. Novotel Hong Kong Nathan Road seems like a great deal at $99 too

You made a good observation in pointing out the stark difference between these two markets. The reason Accor has its annual Super Sales is to move the room inventory during the slow months, consistently this means the months of July to Sep in the past few years (I'm assuming Accor has a lot of statistics to back this up). However, in the case of Singapore, there's no such thing as a slow month as I can attest to that as I travel at least once a month there. Hoteliers are certainly taking advantage of the situation there. Now one will need to pay more to stay at Ibis Bencoolen in Singapore than a Sofitel (Silom) in Bangkok simply because the demand is there and customers are willing to pay that price for a room in the expensive Singapore, do you think this Ibis is going to avail a lot of their room inventory for this SuperSale when they know they can sell these rooms at a higher rate with ease.

For a sense of participation in this annual event as well as its contractual obligation, maybe a handful of rooms do get available (I might be wrong here but at least that's what I feel is the case). That will explain why certains hotels don't seem to offer the 50% off rooms even on the first day of Sales.

Tried a certain german city, three hotels (those I selected as suitable) where not offering this rate for my whole stay (said the Accor-website).

I then tried it with one booking (for a shorter period) with this up-to-50%-off-sale and followed by a standard booking for the rest of the stay. And yes, it works. This is what I always disliked with the Accor-booking site. Often not a mix-rate will show up if just one night is not available. You will then often only be offered the standard rates for your whole stay. So you will have to "try and error" the up-to-50%-off-dates.

"Special feature" this time: First only two nights where available "up-to-50%off" or no night, when trying it with three nights. But when already on the individual hotel booking site, I succeeding in adjusting the dates with three more nights (offering a mix-price-rate which was not available first hand). But when the price gap got too large or no prepaid-rate was available as I added one further more night, the whole stay-rate switched to non available again. So I ended up with two bookings - one up-to-50%-off and one standard flexible (no prepaid available for that period, this might be the reason why the whole stay switched to non available as I was trying it with "one further more night").

actually all singapore hotels are available now

like i said, i dont think its a matter of releasing rooms.

intially not a single room was available for the novotel or mercure in singapore

now availability is much much better

That is totally wrong. The promo clearly states: "A|Club Members earn points by booking this offer in A|Club participating hotels."

glad you told me so, just did a group booking and the hotel staff told me they'd only give triple points on accomodation and not breakfast.

What's your take on that?

You only get points for two rooms, all expenses are eligible including breakfast.
