Chicago - seeking hotel with pool/gym

For a weekend end of June, looking for a hotel with decent pool or access to health club. I recall there is a hotel in the loop that has a big club nearby but can't recall any names. anybody help me out?

The Hilton for one. Onsite.

The Intercontinental has a world renown pool (as well as a fitness center).

But I think every hotel of any size now has a fitness center and most of the large ones have pools. All one needs to do is look for an amenities link on their websites.

It's been a while since I was there, but the Palmer House used to qualify.

Yeah, the Intercontinental has an amazing Moorish-sort-of tiled pool.

I am usually disappointed with the exercise facilities at most hotels. If you want more that a few cadio machines and some elementary free weights, you my want to investigate some of the fitness centers downtown.

I am a member of XSport Fitness. They have a club in the south loop area near the Chicago Hilton.

I know people have purchased short term passes at XSport, but I have no idea how much it costs. But they have pretty good facilities.

The JW Marriott has an excellent gym in house with tons of cardio equipment, a smith machine, a squat rack, etc.

You might have been thinking of the Hotel Sax (formerly House of Blues), which was in the same complex as Crunch (and, I think, gave access to hotel guests). However, I think all Crunch locations in Chicago have gone out of business.

Other big fitness clubs in/near the Loop include Lakeshore Athletic Club, East Bank Club, Equinox & XSport.

Hilton Suites at the north end of the Magnificent Mile has an enclosed top floor pool and gym with a lot of equipment. The Intercontinental has privileges with an adjoining pool and health club, beautiful old fashioned tile work.
