Virgin America Elevate - Incorrect Virgin America fares on itasoftware site

I use Ita Software to find available fares. I'm trying to buy a FLL-LAX flight for some family members, and for a couple days, Ita keeps displaying a Virgin fare that isn't available for purchase. Most ticket sites don't display the fare, but if you go to Expedia, it shows it available. However, when you click on the fare, it then shows it unavailable.

Any idea why this keeps happening? Is there is a special glitch in the way Virgin reports fares? Ita is usually pretty good with "real time" domestic inventory.

Did you check Virgin America's website? Seems like that would be the natural place to check...

Myself, I always buy directly from the airline's website now. I've had too many reservations screwed up made through travel websites, and then useless phone reps unable to discern a problem, let alone a solution.

Yes, the cheap fare doesn't show on Virgin's own website. Only on itasoftware and expedia (before you click). This has gone on for days. There's obviously a programming glitch somewhere. The fare is obviously valid, but inventory for the flight I want is sold out.

Have you tried Orbitz? (Doesn't Orbitz use ITA software to find inventory?)

The same thing happened to me... for days Expedia would display a VA fare that was no longer available when I tried to grab it, but finally, last Tuesday it actually went through.

Happens constantly with SQ and CX (regardless of which portal you use).
