I've noticed lately that when I eat something that has a fairly high fat content, I usually end up suffering from tummy troubles. I never used to have this problem, but since I've gotten into the groove of WW, it seems like if I eat something that's higher in fat content (think something smothered in cheese, or extra bacon), I end up pretty miserable.

I originally noticed it with cheese, when I splurged on sizzling chicken and cheese at Friday's a few weeks ago, and pondered the thought that perhaps I'm lactose intolerant, which would upset me greatly.

However, I splurged at last night's BBQ and had a small, second hamburger, sans bun. Since I didn't prepare the burgers, I can't guarantee that they were properly stored and cooked. I don't know if they were made from extra-lean ground beef, but I highly doubt that. Likewise, the person who prepared them has been working in the restaurant industry for over 10 years, so I'm guessing they weren't contaminated or undercooked.

If it really is just my body sending me a not so gentle reminder to not eat quite so much fat, it's working well, because I'm ready to call it a day and curl up in bed.

Is this normal, that as my body adjusts to not taking in as much fat, when it does have more than "normal," it reacts?

I don't know if it's normal, but I will say that mine reacts the same way. I just feel "icky" if I eat something too rich or outside of my normal calorie range. Not quite the "curl up" variety, but just enough off that I'm reminded why I don't eat like that. Also, if I don't eat enough fiberous foods or enough veggies, I also feel mentally "off". I can splurge a little, but it pretty much means that if I'm going to eat something high fat, the rest of my food intake for the day better be really healthy or I'm going to regret it later.

As I've posted before, foods high in fat content don't bother me, unless I overindulge.

I will say that when I go out to eat, I am dismayed by the family-sized portions which diners are served in too many places. Even just the sight of all that food diminishes my appetite. It's grotesque.

I don't have that problem so much with fat but with sugar. I used to be a sugar fiend. I could down an entire batch of cookies or one of those big cookie cakes with no problem at all and with a little room to spare. But since starting WW 1.5 years ago I hit my max at 3 or 4 cookies. That 5th cookie makes me feel icky and just generally sick. I actually was a little concerned that I might be diabetic but I'm not. My body just doesn't want me to put trash in it.
