I'm headed to Vegas on the weekend of June 17th-June 19th. I've booked a room at the Signature @ MGM Grand for the two nights through a family friend. I'm far from a professional when it comes to Vegas gambling & nightlife as the only times I've been in Vegas has been with my family. I spoke to the Signature concierge and they mentioned that they might be able to get us line skip passes, but probably not much more given that we're four guys. Given the price of clubs on Thurs/Fri/Sat, I'm not sure my group will be willing to splurge....if not....what casino bars would you recommend we check out? Simply cruising through a few hotels...having drinks at different bars doesn't sound like a terrible idea. Also, if you were a group of 22 year old guys, what club would you choose? Thanks!!

On almost every section of the strip (Las Vegas Blvd.) from MGM up to Ballys there are hawkers giving out passes to lots of clubs. Collect these as a starting point. From things I've read and seen, the Palms seems to be a "hot" spot for people in their early 20's and younger. Last Friday night the night club at Caesars (near the racebook) seemed pretty "hot" from outside the club... Get your bearings on Friday, and take a plunge on Saturday.:) [The Caesars club is right near the "Pussycat Dolls" area--female dealers (in the skimpiest of costumes) and a few "pole" dancers thrown in for good measure.:p
Watch The Hangover and then do the opposite of everything those four do in that movie :D
The passes given out are almost exclusively to girls, or a crowd involving hot girls. 4 guys won't get anything. If you want to have some fun, check out Bill's Gambling Saloon. A nice bar there, Karoake, and quite a fun party atmosphere.

Check out the bar at Mandalay Bay that's next to a stage with live music acts. (Can't remember the name.) Youngish, fun crowd. Won't cost you a month's pay.

Thanks a lot. If there are any other casino bars/hotel bars that don't require you to pay a fortune to get in, I'd love to hear about them. I love going to unique, cool bars, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just got back from Vegas with a few friends celebrating my 21st birthday. XS and Tao are the most popular clubs. If your friends are willing to splurge on dinner, go to Tao for some food. Your waiter can give you stamps to let you in that night if you are interested.
Don't spend time at Coyote Ugly in NYNY because it's a waste of time. The girls try too hard to fit into the theme and it's basically a PG-13 strip club without the stripping. No one dances and the place is pretty small. However, the Irish pub at NYNY is pretty good and has no cover. There are some pretty good bands that play too. There is also no cover on weekdays if you go to the place that is outdoors and next to Harrah's, I forgot the name, but it's pretty decent. Free shots poured into your mouth if you tip at least a few dollars, usually around $5.

If you like to people watch go to Bill's Saturday morning around 7 or 8 AM. Just watch the flow of people coming up the stairs, you'll know you are several hundred to the positive.

Thank you. I just booked a reservation at the Tao restaurant for 9:45 PM on the Saturday night we're going to be there. Does anybody know of other clubs that have attached restaurants where this type of thing is possible? Also, would anybody be able to tell me what bars (non-cover ones) attract lots of people from the 20-25 age group? Thank you!

During the day go to the ice bar at Mandelay Bay. It's made of all ice. About $20 to get in but includes one drink. they give you jackets to use.
Or go to the Palms website and for $75 get the 4 club VIP pass for each person. Skip the line at all 4 clubs. I never waited more than 2 min to get in any club there with multiple guys even. It's pricey but well worth it.
Regarding club passes ask the cab drivers also. Don't let the street people who are giving out passes rip you off they want tips but $10 for a handful for each friend is all you should give. They work just fine but lines can be long. Good luck

Interesting idea, but I doubt we can afford that. I've been to IceBar before...its basically a tourist trap. Obviously, no cover is best....there really aren't any other unique bars at Bellagio/Mirage/MGM/Mandalay/CityCenter? Anybody been to Rhumbar at Mirage?

We usually hit a club one night then the other nights walk the strip with a backpack of beer to keep it cheap. That place used to be cheap years ago but now you really have to dig deep on the strip to find a beer for $2 or less unless you are gambling. It can be done though. The higher end the hotel the more expensive the bars/clubs inside usually. I would get a handful of passes each from cab drivers or the steer promoters then hit those places.

Purely from a self-esteem point of view I would never, under any circumstances, pay a cover charge just to drink.
Anywhere in the world.
The bar is taking the piss and will inevitably be full of tossers.
Surely the key to finding a fun crowd in Vegas is to find the local bars away from the strip where the people who work in Vegas go to have fun.
Or is it ?

El Diablo at the Monte Carlo, not pretentious, no cover before 9pm. Free drink coupons actually!
And some very beautiful women.
Us 4 guys had a great time and we didn't end up broke afterwards. (Which is tough to do at most of the Nightclubs.
