California - San Diego Scooter Rental

We'll be in San Diego for a couple of days and I was wondering if anyone knew of a place where we could rent scooters (Vespa or the like) for a couple of days?

I don't know if they rent anything as small as a Vespa...

But EagleRider (http://www.eagleridersandiego.com) rents motorcycles of all sizes from dressed out Harleys down to 250cc Honda Rebels. And they are only two blocks from the Old Town railroad/trolley station.

Also, remember that if you are riding any two wheeler in CA with an engine larger than 49cc and/or no functional pedals, you require some form of motorcycle license (M1 or M2) and insurance. Most Vespas (except for the smallest) have a motor too big to qualify for the "motorized bicycle" or "moped" exception.

Also, having ridden a moped in San Diego back in my undergraduate days (some 20+ years ago), you'll REALLY regret not having at least 150cc in San Diego, as it is a city spread out across hills, valleys and mesas...and getting up & down on 49cc may have you slowed to walking speed on a regular basis.

SWCPHX, you came up with the same results I did, electric scooter rentals, which is not what I'm interested in. As with many who post on FT, I decided to turn to a community of travelers who may have an answer to a question for which, after doing some searches of my own, I could not find suitable answer to! Dont worry, every question I'll ask in the future will start with "After spending some time googling, I could not find a suitable answer so I am now asking XYZ...

Top Dog Rentals, looked like more than just electrical bicycles, no?

If you're going to find anywhere in San Diego that rents scooters, they will probably be down in the Pacific Beach area.

I had called Top Dog and they only rent electric scooters.
