Mid-Atlantic - Beachfront chain hotels in Mid-Atlantic states?

Hi All
Mrs User Name and I had our first child back in January and are already planning ahead and thinking about a 2012 Summer vacation. We decided that a beach vacation is probably a nice, relaxed thing to do with an 18-month old and so we're now trying to decide where to go.
We have a fair number of points in the Marriott, Starwood, Hilton and Priority Club programs (and plenty of time to acquire more) so we were wondering whether anyone has any recommendations of any good properties in these chains that are adjoining (or very close to) beaches anywhere in the mid-Atlantic states? (We're based in New England are are trying to find somewhere nice to go without having to drive too far south).
Thanks in advance.
If you're up for a drive down to Virginia Beach, the Hilton Virginia Beach Oceanfront is supposedly very nice.

I will suggest that if you want a relaxing vacation in Virginia Beach, you plan your visit either for late April/early May, or after Labor Day. If you do that, you'll avoid a lot of the crowds and traffic, but should still have good weather.

Sheraton Atlantic City NJ. It's about five blocks from the beach and boardwalk casinos. It is connected to the Atlantic City Convention Center.
The "Walk" retail outlet center is between the hotel and beach/boardwalk.

My family and I enjoyed a nice stay at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake last October. It's not on the Atlantic, and not exactly on the Chesapeake Bay either, but it does have a small beach on a river that flows into the nearby Chesapeake. They have several pools and the whole resort is very family-friendly. Good times.

I have stays booked this year at the Hilton Ocean City (MD) and the Sheraton VA Beach.
Haven't ever stayed at either of them. Both are supposedly on the beach/boardwalk. The Hilton Ocean City is supposed to be all-suites; we're there for 2 nights sans the 6 year old. The cheapest room rate on Hilton's website was $509 so for 50K points a night it seemed like a decent use of points. Rehoboth is usually more our speed but we're going to see my wife's cousin's band play at Secrets.
The Sheraton will be 5 nights w/ the 6 year old. Rates seemed to be $300/night so at 28K points it also seemed like a decent use of points.
I will try to remember to report back if you're interested in either of those properties.

Stay in New England as you've gotten some good recommendations when you asked this question in the New England forum.

The Hilton ocean city is on the beach and is all suites, boardwalk is about 4 blocks away. Have gone the last 3 years. Good use of points, especially axon award, 4 nights for 145k points.
