Do we have any serious poker players on this board?
Whether you play full time or not, if you are playing in the WSOP, we can call it serious :)
Post your stats:
1. Dates flying in/out
2. Hotels staying at
3. Tournaments playing in
Me:
1. Fly in June 9th, out the 15th, unless my tourney lasts longer :)
2. Caesars & The Rio, all comped but Fri/Sat
3. Event #20, 3 day, $1,000 NLHE

I won't be there but I want to wish the best of luck to anyone going. Here's hoping you suffer as few bad beats as possible and no one at your table says they played their hand "because they're suited!".

Not a serious player and definitely not ponying up a grand to play a tournament, but I do enjoy cash games during WSOP time. I limit myself to 1/2, so I doubt I will make it over to the Rio since they will only be running 2/5 and up.
1. June 9-12
2. The luxurious Imperial Palace
3. Saturday night at Mirage

playing events:
12: $1500 Triple chance NLH
maybe 13: $1500 NL shootout
15: $1500 Pot Limit Holdem
18: $1500 NLH
maybe 20: $1000 nlh
maybe 22: $1500 plo
Maybe 28, 32 and 34.
I prefer cash to tournaments, so all the events will depend on how my cash games are going and how hungover I am. Playing mainly 5-10 plo at the series, the players are much much worse at plo then holdem.
I'd like to play a small horse event, but I haven't played much limit, and my stud 8 is a little off.

I'll be playing most of the limit Hold 'Em events...probably not the first one for $1500 though. I'll be in and out of Vegas during the month.

Like you guys, I do better in cash games, but at low level stakes.
This will be my first series, and I'm excited to play!

No rental car! I have a comped suite at The Rio during the event I'm playing, and they have a free shuttle to/from the strip.

I'm driving from Seattle (red miata w/"LUCKBOX" license plates), arriving in time for the $1000 event on June 19, playing several prelim events and the main event (plus a bunch of smaller tournaments around town). Trying to tune up my cash game so I'll have an alternative revenue stream, but mostly a tournament player.
Staying mostly at the Rio, with a stint at the Gold Coast when I can't get a free or cheap room at Rio. Leaving Vegas when I bust out of the main event (or make the November 9)

As you may or may not know there are many other daily multi-table tournaments that are part of WSOP even though they aren't bracelet events; and the Rio also offers cash games, SNGs, and satellites. The place is a mob scene. I played in the nightly $135 10 PM NLHE tournament, this attracted 170 entrants for a top prize of $4,737. As I sat down to play, the daily 2 PM $235 tournament had just reached the money (74 places out of a field of 750, top prize was $39,xxx). A couple of tables over from me was the 2 final tables in the $10,000 2-7 triple draw lowball, featuring Phil Hellmuth, Greg Raymer, Bernard Grospellier, and John Juanda.
Honey, I lost $135, but you'll never guess who I played in the same room with....
