Hello- We are looking for a good resort in Puerto Rico for a large group with a grandma, siblings and then 3 grandchildren. Anyone have any good recommendations for nice places that aren't too expensive?

We would be going after xmas.

Thanks!

I was born an raised in SJU, but live in ORD.
x-mas in PR is actually 2 weeks, 12/25 and 01/06 (Three Kings Day). Rates are still at peak. I'm not sure on your likes, but I will suggest Isla Verde area. Right in the beach, close to some of the restaurants, casino, clubs in the area. If you want to golf, that is mostly in-land, within the resorts area, but there are tours that take you there. As for resorts per se, what do you mean, All Inclusive? most of this are inland. I'm not too familiar with them, but you can check el Conquistador, that seems to be a popular one. There are numerous hotel from all of the main chains in the area.

We went a couple years ago & stayed at the Embassy Suites, which was about 45 minutes from the airport & also the Intercontinental real close to the airport. Both were great, but the Embassy Suites was great for our family & would be the first place we looked to book if we go back.

You should definitely check out the Courtyard by Marriott in Isla Verde. Very reasonably priced and located right on a blue flag beach. Not a typical Courtyard as far as its facilities but you get the expected standards of a Marriott hotel. It has about four restaurants, a large free-form swimming pool with swim up bar/restaurant, and even a casino. It's also rated the number one hotel in town. It's located about one block east of the Ritz-Carlton. I always see a bunch of families whenever I go there

Hope this helps

What about some of the timeshares in Puerto Rico? I am looking at one in Humanaco which trades through II. Anyone with experieince staying there? Also, I have read great things about Vieques, which is quieter + has a lot of private rentals. Any recommendations?
