I'd like to book something for my wife and I on our 15th wedding anniversary and looking for a nice room with a great view. The trip will likely be on a Monday thru Thursday.

We'd like something with nice service, but we will also go out to see some shows. Also, we'll probably spend one day lounging at the hotel pool and another day at the spa.

This is also going to be a surprise, so I'd like to get some wow factor.

So far, I'm considering these (roughly in order of preference)
Skylofts
Mandarin (apex suite looks like it has an awesome view)
Wynn Towers (likely salon suite)
Encore Towers (likely salon suite)
Bellagio

Any suggestions? Skylofts seemed like it was awesome but appears to have been getting very mixed reviews over the past 2 years.

Rooms at the Mandarin are on the lower floors. While there is a view, the best view is from the bar or lobby. At the Bellagio you could have a nice view of the fountain, and a nice pool area. I would also suggest the Four Seasons. On the top floors of the Mandalay Bay Hotel it has quite a view, and while the pool is small, the service is great. It is a quiet place like the Mandarin since there is no casino, but you have the Mandalay casino to use if you wish to make a contribution. My wife and I spent our anniversary last year at the Mandarin and enjoyed it but this year we're going to ty the Four Seasons. We prefer the quiet.

I'd say go with the Wynn or Encore, always great service, and you'd probably save a bit of money over the Skylofts anyways.

I ended up booking Skylofts. I'll report back after the trip.

The plan so far is to get in Monday, enjoy a pool, and then go to Joel Robuchon.

Tuesday's event is to see Ka. No other plans so far.

Wednesday will be O with pre-theater at something in/near the Bellagio to see the fountain show. Does anybody have recommendations?

Jasmine (oriental restaurant) in Bellagio is almost in the fountain--super view; the decor and other amenities are very upscale. The food is well prepared but not "super" spectacular. Picasso and LeCirque IMHO are probably the two best restaurants in Bellagio, but their ambiance is not as nice as Jasmines--I'd put LeCirque above Picasso--both of these overlook the fountain.
