Russia - Russia Visa Question (Tourist vs Transit)

Is there a major difference between the Tourist Visa and the Transit Visa?

Next month, I will be flying SU from ICN-SVO-BUD. On the outbound leg, I have a 17 hour layover and wanted to go into Moscow and meet up with some friends.

My travel agent was supposed to book a Transit Visa, but instead got me a Single Entry Tourist Visa. Would this be an issue?

On the return, I understand that I would not need a visa as I have a 3 hour plane change in the same terminal.

Can anyone offer some guidance? I really do not want to have to go thru the hassle of changing the visa (or dealing with my company's travel agency) if I do not have to.

thanks!

It shouldn't be an issue.

A tourist visa will be fine. I've been in the same situation before.
