Today is the first day I noticed this, but Groupon now has $1 deals ( if you are familiar, very similar to what Livingsocial has been doing in DC). In the restaurant category, the deals are typically $1 for a $10 Groupon. The deals are good same day only - may expire at 3 o'clock, 7 o'clock.... In the loop, there are about 6 deals - and these restaurants will get very busy.
If there is nothing that interests you now, check back later. Livingsocial would add deals throughout the day and Groupon may do the same.
There are numerous deals citywide in a number of categories, but these are very nice if you work in the Loop. I do not, but had jury duty in the Federal Court the last 2 weeks, and wish I were buying $1 lunches.
