Has anyone had an eye-brow raised when it becomes known in the office that they are staying at a Sofitel - any Sofitel !

In my world, Sofitel has become associated with romance (believe it or not) rather than rape ! Yes, I do live in France !!!

I fail to see what that one event has to do with what people think of other people staying at a Sofitel.

Such is life.

Unfortunately people seem be obsessed with tittle tattle. Hotels are public places and as such all sorts of transgressions happen in them.

I recall the sexual assault case at the Le Meridien Al Aqah Beach Resort in the UAE, didn't cause people to question staying at Starwood.

To me the only interesting Sofitel related issue was that the press thought that he actually paid rack rate, or $3000 per night for his suite. I'll bet the actual rate was closer to $350 and he was upgraded.

I had the same thought.

I read somewhere that he paid actually 500$ for the room. Potentially, agree as well that he was upgraded.

I do hope Sofitel now has put the suspect on their blacklist.

I'll bet as he was dragged off to the cells, he was mumbling...

"..and I still haven't got my A-Club points! How am I supposed to fax the invoice from prison?????"
