Apparently, the idiotic programming doesn't recognize that the District of Columbia is in the United States. It rejected my DC ZIP code in all browsers. So I switched the ZIP Code to one in Minnesota and it worked.

I think this is a good question and it was asked in the IHG forum as well. I do not see anything in the T&C's indicating an Exp/Orb etc. booking would be excluded from the offer, only bookings on Hotwire or PL type sites.

A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates.(such as AAA, Government, old folks rate etc) Qualifying Room Rates do not include the following reduced room rates: net wholesale individual and group rate, certain package rates, employee discount rate, friends and family rate, crew rate, special discounted contract rates, seasonal worker/crew rate, 50% travel club discount rate, travel industry discount rate, distressed passenger rate, Priority Club Reward Nights/Airline Hotel Reward rate, complimentary hotel stays and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate. Also excluded are opaque rates and "name your own price" rates (where hotel name, location and/or rate not visible until after booking is submitted).

OK, so getting back on point, what a great deal. Thanks, OP, my two night Shanghai stay in July went to a net of US$4 apx with the rebate. And a two night Shenzhen stay the next weekend nets out at US$65.

While it may be a qualifying stay it is not necessarily at a qualifying rate Two different things I think and I would guess the GO in BOGO will be considered a complimentary stay

Obviously. The reason I asked is that I got a special Twitter rate that's half the current rate for those dates, so rebooking is not an option. :rolleyes:

Too bad the F&F rate does not qualify. Otherwise, combining a rebate and the F&F booking rate would make a real deal!

And, I'm wondering if the 2000 Pt bonus rate is qualifying, as the T&C's only say that "some" package rates are not qualifying without specifying which. My HIX Zhabei (Shanghai) weekend stays in July are at CNY214/nt AAA but the 2k bonus rate is only CNY20/nt more. Probably not worth risking it.

I think I can read English pretty well, so I don't understand why you would ask such a question. Today is after May 11, 2011 and also after May 16, 2011. If your stay is on a weekend and is for two consecutive nights, it will count as long as you checkout by Monday, August 29, 2011.

Considering the promotion couldn't be registered for BEFORE May 11 I'm sitting along side DCBob and pondering the existential nature of your question.

There are two parts to the 'you must register on or after May 11....' You did not satisfy the 'register on..... May 11' but so long as you registered already then you've satisfied the 'register.... after May 11'. Further, since it is not yet August 31 then you've registered within the confines of the requirements.

Of the many T&Cs I've read this is an exceedingly clear paragraph.

I got the first one of my rebates yesterday.

I also got the first of my rebates yesterday. It was for a stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach, CA Sat & Sun night of Memorial Day weekend.

Great deal! Can't beat $108/nt in Hermosa Beach in a suite that has an ocean view . . . not to mention the free breakfast and parking. If you factor in the rebate, it was just $71.00 a night.
