T/C's kill it. bigcahonna May 18, 11, 5:58 pm Looks like a great deal. Any idea if it matters that you book on a 3rd party site (Expedia, Agoda, etc..)? familyoutdoors May 18, 11, 6:25 pm <<Book a qualified stay with 2 consecutive weekend nights between May 16 and August 31, 2011. Book online or contact the hotel directly.>> Darn! Why couldn't it have been for week nights! DCBob May 18, 11, 8:06 pm Apparently, the idiotic programming doesn't recognize that the District of Columbia is in the United States. It rejected my DC ZIP code in all browsers. So I switched the ZIP Code to one in Minnesota and it worked. redreeper May 19, 11, 5:30 am Looks like a great deal. Any idea if it matters that you book on a 3rd party site (Expedia, Agoda, etc..)? I think this is a good question and it was asked in the IHG forum as well. I do not see anything in the T&C's indicating an Exp/Orb etc. booking would be excluded from the offer, only bookings on Hotwire or PL type sites. Please correct me if I am wrong..... darben May 19, 11, 7:52 am I think this is a good question and it was asked in the IHG forum as well. Rack rate only? darben May 22, 11, 1:28 pm So what rate can you book? Rack rate only? please see T&C's here https://vacationpay.ihg.com/terms.php. Second paragraph will explain mikew99 May 22, 11, 1:56 pm This is not $75 off! It's a $75 rebate in the form of a prepaid Mastercard. More discussion already going on here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/intercontinental-hotels-priority-club-inter-continental-ambassador/1213868-ihg-offers-75-prepaid-gift-card-w-2day-weekend.html). 91lsc May 22, 11, 3:09 pm please see T&C's here https://vacationpay.ihg.com/terms.php. Second paragraph will explain 2nd paragraph seems all discounted rates excluded. It rambles on and on. If the room was avail at one of the special rates i.e. AAA, military/govt etc, then $37.50 a day might help. darben May 22, 11, 3:30 pm 2nd paragraph seems all discounted rates excluded. It rambles on and on. If the room was avail at one of the special rates i.e. AAA, military/govt etc, then $37.50 a day might help. Here are the T&C's I referred too. I will break it down for you A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates.(such as AAA, Government, old folks rate etc) Qualifying Room Rates do not include the following reduced room rates: net wholesale individual and group rate, certain package rates, employee discount rate, friends and family rate, crew rate, special discounted contract rates, seasonal worker/crew rate, 50% travel club discount rate, travel industry discount rate, distressed passenger rate, Priority Club Reward Nights/Airline Hotel Reward rate, complimentary hotel stays and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate. Also excluded are opaque rates and "name your own price" rates (where hotel name, location and/or rate not visible until after booking is submitted). So what is not clear? rbAA May 22, 11, 8:15 pm OK, so getting back on point, what a great deal. Thanks, OP, my two night Shanghai stay in July went to a net of US$4 apx with the rebate. And a two night Shenzhen stay the next weekend nets out at US$65. hautecouTours May 23, 11, 4:14 pm It doesn't say that the Ambassador Certificate rate is not a qualifying rate... I wonder what would happen if one used his/her weekend certificate before August 31st. Has anyone tried it? I wonder what would happen if one used his/her weekend certificate before August 31st. Has anyone tried it? From T&C's excluded is any rate "and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate" So since the rate is not a qualified rate it is therefore excluded remember this part of the T&C's A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates. rbAA May 25, 11, 6:09 pm From T&C's excluded is any rate "and any other rates not defined as a Qualifying Room Rate" So since the rate is not a qualified rate it is therefore excluded remember this part of the T&C's A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates. This is the definition of a qualifying rate "A stay is qualified when paying qualifying rates, which include most business and leisure rates' While it may be a qualifying stay it is not necessarily at a qualifying rate Two different things I think and I would guess the GO in BOGO will be considered a complimentary stay 3xter May 26, 11, 11:55 am I wish this would be combinable with expedia BRG's DCBob May 27, 11, 7:36 am It looks like stays booked before May 16 do not qualify even if the stay is after May 15. I wonder how the rebate processing center in El Paso, TX will know when the stay was booked or if that really matters. You can always cancel your reservation (if refundable) and rebook the same room to take advantage of the promotion! DCBob Jun 2, 11, 11:37 am You can always cancel your reservation (if refundable) and rebook the same room to take advantage of the promotion! Obviously. The reason I asked is that I got a special Twitter rate that's half the current rate for those dates, so rebooking is not an option. WebNomad Jun 5, 11, 4:55 pm Too bad the F&F rate does not qualify. Otherwise, combining a rebate and the F&F booking rate would make a real deal! My HIX Zhabei (Shanghai) weekend stays in July are at CNY214/nt AAA but the 2k bonus rate is only CNY20/nt more. Probably not worth risking it. bigcahonna Jun 20, 11, 5:42 pm It doesn't say that the Ambassador Certificate rate is not a qualifying rate... Not surprisingly, darben is wrong again Excellent news, thanks for sharing - was watching the other thread with interest as I have 3 bogo stays in August :-) FlightNurse Jul 7, 11, 4:02 am Ok just saw this thread, and I just regestered. But then I saw this... Registration is required in advance of stay. Must register on or after May 11, 2011 and book and stay at any IHG brand hotel worldwide on or after May 16, 2011 through August 31, 2011. A stay is defined as two consecutive weekend nights (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) at the same hotel. Limit of four qualified rewards awarded per household during the promotional period. So does this mean I can't get this deal, or has this deal been extended? DCBob Jul 8, 11, 3:02 am Ok just saw this thread, and I just regestered. But then I saw this... Today is after May 11, 2011 and also after May 16, 2011. If your stay is on a weekend and is for two consecutive nights, it will count as long as you checkout by Monday, August 29, 2011. reddy2011 Jul 8, 11, 3:23 am I think I can read English pretty well, so I don't understand why you would ask such a question. Since I was able to registar for the promotion AFTER May 11, 2011 that is why I was wondering. OK, I give up. You are supposed to be able to do that per the original terms and conditions. It says on OR after. Just what do you mean? Seriously.... dsquared37 Jul 9, 11, 6:46 pm Well maybe Bob you need to reread my post. Since I was able to registar for the promotion AFTER May 11, 2011 that is why I was wondering. Considering the promotion couldn't be registered for BEFORE May 11 I'm sitting along side DCBob and pondering the existential nature of your question. There are two parts to the 'you must register on or after May 11....' You did not satisfy the 'register on..... May 11' but so long as you registered already then you've satisfied the 'register.... after May 11'. Further, since it is not yet August 31 then you've registered within the confines of the requirements. Of the many T&Cs I've read this is an exceedingly clear paragraph. kaaria Jul 9, 11, 11:38 pm I got the first one of my rebates yesterday. DFW25FLY Jul 17, 11, 1:35 pm I also got the first of my rebates yesterday. It was for a stay at the Holiday Inn Express Hermosa Beach, CA Sat & Sun night of Memorial Day weekend. Great deal! Can't beat $108/nt in Hermosa Beach in a suite that has an ocean view . . . not to mention the free breakfast and parking. If you factor in the rebate, it was just $71.00 a night. |
