I'm happy to announce that Gaucho100K is now the moderator for this forum. This forum exists because he proposed and championed it to Talkboard. It thrives because he is actively engaged, constantly giving information about his country. We are fortunate to have such a great resource who has made this forum a place where folks are confident to find information so that they can have a better trip to this beautiful country. By making Gaucho moderator, we are simply giving him the tools to maintain the information and stickies that he, himself, has created over the years.

Gaucho100K, thank you for sharing your enthusiasm about Argentina with all FlyerTalkers.

Thanks and Welcome Gaucho! You've provided some great information on food and wine here and it has been a pleasure doing business with you on my visits to Buenos Aires. I look forward to the continued success of this board.

You already were the de facto font of information, Gaucho100K. :) I'm very pleased you and FT are taking this step. ^

I noted his last activity on Flyertalk was almost a week ago.....that's no way for a Mod to act. :p

Must be away on another wine tasting mission.

Careful...... Ive checked the fine print of FlyerTalk's TOS and openly admitting to consuming RSJ is grounds for a reprimand... ;) :D

Thank you SanDiego1K.... I look forward to serving in my new role and hope to continue to assist FTers that wish to come down to Argentina.

Its important to note that this last task would be impossible without the support and collaboration of all the regular Argentina Forum posters that have made this sub-forum what it is today... I just started the fire but its kept burning (and grown) only because Ive been able to get others to join in the "fun". More importantly, regular visitors and part-time residents can also give a perspective that I, as a local, can only provide on a partial basis. I could not have done it alone... thanks guys!! ^

Thanks also to all the others for you kind words and wishes, they mean a lot to me, I look forward to seeing more from you all in the future, and lets keep the information coming !!! ^ :D

Best wishes from Buenos Aires,
Alex / Gaucho100K

Congratulations, Gaucho100K! I really enjoyed the one CowDo that I was able (so far) to attend. Will be in BA later this week, but just for a couple of days and then on to Rosario.

Thanks!!! :D

No argument on the real Shiraz being from Ozland... some of my favorites are from Down Under... ^ We have some very good Syrah here in Argentina, but its of a different style to the stuff you guys can make over there... ;)

Congratulations Alex. Please don't follow the example of some of the Mods on this Board who are determined to prove Lord Acton's well known phrase. I'm confident you won't as this is one of the forums I enjoy reading and contributing to.
