I don't recall ever seeing a UOB card with an attractive mileage-earning ratio...

Are these cards still rubbish in this regard, or has something changed?

I believe the Privilege Reserve Card (2nd card featured above) offers 1.6 miles/S$ spent. Moreover, it is for all expenditure, not selected ones only.

So you get the 1.6 miles per $ spent that DBS Altitude gives you (although it is only for spend above 1000, otherwise 1.2) and you get 100,000 miles for putting 2 Million of your SG$ at a not so attractive rate with UOB...

mmmmmmmm..... Don't think I am moving away from DBS Altitude and Citi Premier Miles!
