I bought one of them about a month ago for the 3000 point bonus and just realized the use date restrictions. Has anyone had trouble getting these to post if they use before the use by date?

I've not purchased one but am considering doing so. That raises a question I have (forgive if I'm hijacking your post, but this is related). Can you use BW reward points to buy the card and still get the bonus offer? That might be buried in the terms and conditons somewhere, but I didn't see it. Although it may seem kind of silly to do so, it struck that this would be a way to use some points toward a stay and earn some more while minimizing out of pocket cost.

Will it be possible to earn the extra 5000 points if I've selected the miles option for my account? Sorry for such a newbie question, but I just got status matched with BW. TIA

Actually from scanning the Best Western website and there is a newer promo - for every $100.00 travel card that you buy, you get airline miles. You do not have to use the card - just buy it to get the miles. I'm no expert but it seems like the 1500 aeroplan miles for each $100.00 purchase is the best mileage deal. It can be found here:

Well, no and yes. I registered for the non-elite version (3000 points bonus) before I heard of the elite version. I never called or anything, just waited to see what would happen. And about a week into August (ie, about a week and a half ago), I saw 5000 bonus points post. So they did post 5000 for elites even if you registered for the non-elite 3000 point version. ^

And my qualifying stay using the card was on June 1 (the very first possible day). So I wouldn't be surprised if yours might not post for a while longer if your qualifying stay wasn't for almost a month later.
