Hi Everyone

Some of you may remember have quite a few Alitalia and codeshare flights coming up in June and July and everything is assigned to Millemiglia only.
I am also an Accor Hotels member and have changed the option to give miles to Millemiglia rather than A Club points (have no idea how many miles I get however)

How else can i be maximising my points? Other websites/services etc I can purchase and then receive points?

Any amex points can be converted, and for those living in Italy you can even get an AZ amex card, however being based abroad can't comment on it. If you really just want miles then you could buy them directly, but it's not usually worth it (25€ per 1000 miles*).
If I remember correctly you'll be getting quite a packet of miles for your itinerary, 30000 or something like that.

*(Funny, last time I checked it was 19€, certainly not worth it then)

There really are so many ways (apart from flying) but obviously living in Italy help

This is the page that will help you :-

http://www.alitalia.com/IT_IT/millemiglia/earning_miles/index.aspx

Without listing everyone / everything the best ways to get AZ miles not living in Italy (apart from flying obviously).. Are :

HOTELS

CAR HIRE

AMEX MILES TRANSFER

good point - you can buy them

SPG transfers give 5000 bonus miles on 20000 pts, so 20000 pts = 25000 miles, but thats with all their partners..

Hi terminalfive, good suggestions and it looks like both shopping on board (3 miles per €) and shopping in FCO (10 miles per 5€) are pretty easy ways to get some miles without too many complications.

Hi Bungler!!

Personally I transfer a lot of points from ENI / AGIP but I drive a lot.. Otherwise AMEX and flying - don't shop much in airports..^

Truth be said I don't really see the point of getting miles at all if you don't fly. I spent hours trying to get miles from Hilton the other day but it was all to no avail and it would only have been a measly 600 anyway.

+ 1

Actually for me its more of a problem finding availability. Need to book a flight (actually 3 flights..) in J and the availability is awful

Not great on BA or KLM / AF either..

Or instead of ENI/AGIP you can use Q8
and if really creative Q8->Esselunga*->Alitalia ^

Thanks all for your replies! GIves me some good ideas!

Brought some points the other day and also received a 2000 welcome bonus which was good.

To Australia it might take years, here in Belgium it took them five months, and in Italy I believe you only need 10 weeks.

In Italy, at the moment, it's like 4 weeks. So I would allow for 8.

It did take them 5 months when I changed from MM to MMY last year, and slow delivery is the main topic on the Alitalia Facebook page, so for a delivery to Australia (which from Europe would take a couple of weeks even by normal post, would it not?) I would really consider it a treat if they got it out to jinxy before the end of the summer (winter there summer here).

Will let you know how I go!

Bungler...another question for you (or Raistlin) and not sure where in Europe you're based...but do you know much about the lounges at Rome airport?

Thanks :)

I have Priority Pass and wondered which of the 3 lounges are better that they offer

ATA HOTEL VIP LOUNGE T1
I MOSAICI T3
LE ANFORE T3

I will need to use one while waiting to catch a flight to SUF with Alitalia and then another day flying Easyjet to NCE

Discard the first one.

Of the other 2, one is in the extra-schengen area, the other in the schengen area. Choose the one nearest to you, and keep in mind it might be behind you.... Oh wait, that was something else :p
