First time post. Flying out of EWR at 645am on a Sunday in June on US Airways. Was wondering how long to plan for checking in through security? We're not checking in any luggage and will have our boarding passes. Appreciate the help.

Welcome to Flyertalk. One hour in advance given your timeframe should be sufficient.

If you have no bags and are checking in online, you'd be fine with just 45 minutes (6:00 is is not usually a busy time on a sunday morning). By the way, you don't have to go to the check in desk, just go right through security.
I'm not quite sure...I flew on the first EWR-PHX flight last year, I think it left somewhere around 6-7am, and security was a major mess. That was on a weekday, so perhaps Sundays are calmer. Many flights were held for delayed pax, and even then many pax still weren't making them.
There aren't many gates in that area (I'd guess 6 or so), but with 2 or 3 US flights, and I think AA, all leaving at the same time...
