Does anyone know what the connection times between an international arrival to a domestic departure ? I will be arriving from LHR on DL 271 around 130pm. I connecting to BWI via Southwest. Southwest leaves at 250pm. In your honest opinion would that be cutting it close or should I try another airline ? Such as AirTran or JetBlue ?

Thanks

This would be close but I think doable, though I'd recommend not checking a bag. I don't think CBP lines at BOS are long at 1:30 (most European arrivals are from 2-5), and Southwest is in the same terminal, so you'd just have to go upstairs after clearing customs. The problem is if the LHR flight is late, you'd be in trouble--this would be two tickets, and I'm not sure Southwest would put you on a later flight without requiring the difference in fare.

DL's flight from AMS has a 1.00pm scheduled arrival, and their flight from CDG gets in at 1.10pm. And there's BA flight at 1.20pm.

I'd say there's a real good chance that CBP lines at 1.30 would be as long or longer than any other time during the day.

The good news would be that your suitcase would likely be waiting for you by the time you snaked your way to the front of the CBP line. I'd expect that you'd miss the connection to Southwest at least 15-20% of the time. That would be too high a % for me.

Too close. As you have to check in for your Southwest flight, and perhaps check a bag as well, leave a gap of at least two hours. I'd probably allow closer to three.

The connection is doable, but in my opinion wayyy too tight for switching airlines. IE, if you miss the flight WN is not responsible for accommodating you. One minor point to note is that WN is actually in terminal E, where you will be arriving, so it is the most convenient. You will still have to check in and go through security though. If you take another airline you will just have to take a quick bus ride to another terminal.
