Southwest Rapid Rewards - Cancel an Award 1.0 or 2.0 ticket: is new name restriction applicable?

Is it known for sure whether, when you make a RR 1.0 or 2.0 reservation now for a specific person and then cancel, if the name of that person is attached to the Award and then must be used for him/her?
I am guessing no, but wonder.
Does it make a difference if the Award reservation was made pre- or post-April 29?

No, I don't think so - it only applies to the RRF used on that award booking. So while you can use the award for another person, the $2.50 per segment fee which now is $2.50 in TTF can only be used for the original PAX.
This is a good reason to use only new credit card money for award travel by infrequent travelers. It's fully refundable.

Are you referring to the security fee: is that still fully refundable?

Yes, it may be - not sure.

The security fee is refundable.
I had RR1 awards booked for several family members which I ended up cancelling. The RR1 awards went back into my acount. I had used a credit card for the fees (knowing that I most likely would need to cancel) and was refunded the security fees to my credit card.
Like one of the previous posters mentioned. A good reason not to use/co-mingle TTF's. It keeps it cleaner that way if you have to cancel.

Pay Pal is fully refundable too if someone doesn't have a cc. ^

Was this before or after March 1? Maybe it doesn't matter.

I verified this is still the case for RR 2.0. Points or SA's go back into the RR member's account and the $2.50 security fee is refundable.

Great, thanks.
So now all our paid stuff goes in my wife's name and all redemptions go in my name and my son is my Companion. Until my CP expires 12/31/12. Or until my wife gets the CP, naming my son as HER Companion. Then we switch back.
Fun times.
Thanks, sounds like 1.0 rewards retain the same flexibility as before.
