Allo,
I will be off port of Barcelona and plan for a day trip @ Montserrat :
1. The train / combo of cable will be the best, correct ? where / how far from the cruise ship that I have to walk to the train station ? where can i get the ticket ?
2. The shuttle / bus option is open: have anyone taking this route ?
TIA, Dong

Allo,

We took the train to the cable car last month. The view from the cable car is very nice. After reading up on taking the cable car vs the train, we decided on cc. Also, the cc stop is about 5 - 7 minutes closer to Barcelona, not that it matters.
We purchased the combo ticket at the station (Placa Espanya) the train departs for Montserrat. Plenty of people around to help use use the ticket machine.
Train: The FGC (Ferrocarils de la Generalitat) trains S4 or R5 leave from Plaça Espanya. Take the train direction Manresa until Montserrat Aeri (for the cable car) or Monistrol de Montserrat (for the zipper train). The trip takes approx. 1 hour and trains depart every hour. You can choose to buy a combined, round-trip ticket at the Plaça Espanya FGC station that includes the train and cable car or zipper train ride (approx. 13€). For more information, fares and timetables, please consult www.fgc.es, www.cremallerademontserrat.com or www.aeridemontserrat.com or call 93 205 1515 (FGC), 902 31 2020 (Cremallera/zipper train) or 93 237 7156 (Aeri/cable car).
