Virgin Atlantic Flying Club - Upper Deck layout

Is there any difference in the seating layout on the upper deck, between the 747-4 and the classics,regarding how many upper and how many premium economy seats. T I A

Hmmm.. never thought about that one. I would expect there to be a difference since the upper deck on a 744 is longer.

It used to be that upper deck on some older 747's was economy & premium was all downstairs.

It depends on the route served.

You could phone the flying club and ask for your particluar route.

Eg. Orlando normally has around 40 Premium seats and 28 Upper Class seats, though this is due to change with the new 747-400 for the route.

As a rough guide the planes normally carry:-

Between 18-40 Premium Seats
Between 12-32 Upper Class seats

Richard, Many thanks, I'm probably going to SFO on the LHR which I believe is 744 and coming back on the LGW which may be a classic. Any idea how long the classics are going to be in the VS fleet.

Not sure on how long Virgin intends to keep some of the older Classics. The oldest will now be entering its 17th year of service later this year.
