Travel with Pets - Family Felines seek Lodging on the Jersey Shore

What do I have to do to find a place on/near the beach that will allow cats? Put an ad in the local paper?
Seriously, it is impossible to find a place that will rent anything on the coast, even off-season, to folks with felines. Every listing that says "pet friendly" has turned out to be "dog friendly" in disguise.
My well-traveled house cats won't bark, pee on the rug or otherwise disturb other guests or damage the property. If you know of a place in the "family" range (as opposed to "opulent luxury" category) that would rent to us, be it motel, cottage or condo, please PM me with the info - hoping for late May or early June.

I would like to know that too  why no cats?!
Have you tried calling a realtor that specializes in rentals?

Have you tried calling a realtor that specializes in rentals? The realtor websites that I've found all seem to offer long stay properties - we're just looking for 3 or 4 nights, not the a whole month.
I did find one motel near the beach that would allow the cats - the per night pet fee came to more than the room rate  which says to me that they think they've found a new profit center, not a way to attract more guests.

I found these in a google search:

http://www.ehow.com/list_6103683_jersey-shore-pet-friendly-motels.htmlI congratulate Kipper on her searching skills, but condemn the first two sites for their lack of accuracy. I contacted several places listed as "PET friendly" and it turns out every one of them is "DOG friendly" - cats not welcome.
The only cat friendly place that worked in terms of date and location charges more for the felines than the humans.
Oh, well, maybe I'll do what a friend of mine does and take the little furballs to a drive-in movie for fun. She says her cats love the drive-in, although that
may be because she lets them lick the butter off the popcorn. (no, she doesn't eat it after that)

Sorry! If you're looking to stay in Wildwood, I can email a friend who, last I knew, had an uncle who owned property there. I don't know if he allows cats, but I can ask, if you want.
