Must be better than MilesPlusMoney fares, which do not accrue Flying Club miles.

My assumption is that the fares you mention offer 100% mileage credit, unlike BA's fares which may offer 25% mileage (but don't take my word for it!).

Gus, how do you book or find out more about these fares?

Mark, The full page advert in the MOS says contact 01293 747 226 or see your travel agent, the fares match BA but I cannot see anything about not getting flying club miles, always worth checking it out before you book though. Gus

I've booked direct with Virgin to travel to MCO at the end of Feb, and managed to get it for the advertised 280GBP. I asked about earning the miles, and the bloke on the end of the phone seemed to be pretty sure that they do come with FF miles (although how many I didn't ask - hopefully the full 100%). I shall be watching my details closely when I get back in March. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

On the downside, on of my collegues who is only with us for the week couldn't make the lower fare because of his travelling dates...

These fares are booked in X and Q classes. X does not qualify for miles, I believe Q does. Looking at the LHR-JFK

£212 X
£219 Q
£227 Q
£242 Q
£262 Q

So so long as you stay away from the very lowest fare (ie the one in the ads) you might get away with it.

Last time I asked, I was told no miles on S, X, N, G, I, U, V, T, O, E, Z (so Q hopefully is ok, but maybe changed since then!). Call flying club and ask them if Q qualifies.

As far as I know 'Q' tickets are good for miles. And yes, all Virgin Economy tickets which earn miles always earn the full 100% (150% Premium Economy, 200% Upper Class). None of this 25% BA nonsense!

I've just checked: Apparently 'X' tickets are also valid for miles.

I've had a rummage through some old ticket stubs and as far as I can make out I got miles on a X class ticket in the past http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The fares advertised do earn miles, the only ones you do not earn miles for are the ones bought under MilesPlusMoney. All other tickets bought under the MegaSaver offer and any other offers will earn miles.

Thanks,
Rich

Richard- are you sure about this? they are definitley X class and I was told specifically that X do not earn miles. Would be great if they did...

Gus- My last info was that X stopped earning miles around mid 1999 (I had a student ticket in X from June 99 that did earn miles but some from a couple of months later that didn't), are your stubs from before that?

The X fare was Feb/Mar 2000, coded
XLMEGA, it only cost 164 pounds plus tax LHR-LAX return. I'll be booking again shortly, the student people are showing 170+ but I'm not sure what class of ticket this is.I can get Q for 190+ before 29 Jan with all those lovely miles as well http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
