Vuelos Apr 26, 11, 4:59 pm Senator Craig, is that you? aubreyfromwheaton Apr 26, 11, 5:00 pm Did the sign on the door possibly have a silhouette of a human wearing a skirt? Vuelos Apr 26, 11, 5:05 pm Did the sign on the door possibly have a silhouette of a human wearing a skirt? I would hope there are no urinals in a woman's restroom (but I've never been inside one). avidflyer Apr 26, 11, 5:51 pm Senator Craig, is that you? I was thinking the same thing. Crazyhotelguy Apr 26, 11, 5:53 pm Senator Craig, is that you? :D Vuelos Apr 26, 11, 5:54 pm I was thinking the same thing. Great (sick) minds think alike Bagels Apr 26, 11, 7:23 pm Honestly, I've never noticed. In Southeastern Michigan, many of the older Meijer Supercenters had oversized bathrooms with way more stalls than urinals. Unfortunately, they gained a notoriety for um, Craigslist sexual indecencies, and in recent years were removed in favor of smaller bathrooms with as few as a single toilet and urinal. Not exactly convenient considering many of these stores have a footprint as large as 300,000 sq. ft... TTT Apr 26, 11, 7:33 pm I would hope there are no urinals in a woman's restroom (but I've never been inside one). I once walked off a red-eye in Atlanta and right into the woman's restroom. It was the lack of urinals that tipped me off.:D Great (sick) minds think alike :D itsaboutthejourney Apr 26, 11, 7:33 pm Used the men's room in MSP first time last week, and it seems there are more toilet seats than urinals in men's room??:) Is this only in MSP? MSP is a big airport; are you talking about a specific concourse? maybe one of the SkyClubs? kwildnj Apr 26, 11, 7:40 pm I once walked off a red-eye in Atlanta and right into the woman's restroom. It was the lack of urinals that tipped me off.:D Sadly +1 from me, @ IAH. I had to pee so bad it wasn't until I found myself washing my hands next to two females, that I thought something was up. Sad thing was my friend I was traveling with watched me run right in! QueerEyeForDelta Apr 26, 11, 8:00 pm Used the men's room in MSP first time last week, and it seems there are more toilet seats than urinals in men's room??:) Is this only in MSP? You betcha. We used to have a much more efficient system called the trough. More guys could stand along the same space, shoulder to shoulder. However a few years back we had to replace the trough with the current individual 1:1 urinals. Not a great use of space and an inefficient method of getting a lot of guys in and out of the men's room. avidflyer Apr 26, 11, 8:07 pm You betcha. I remember going to Red Sox games as a kid and Fenway had a trough that was huge. Pretty disgusting at the seventh inning stretch after many many beers. I've never understood why it's so taboo for a guy to accidentally walk into a women's restroom, yet it's perfectly acceptable for women to raid the men's restroom (as is common at many sporting events). I do recall, as a child, playing with the tampons I discovered in the restrooms on aircraft. My parents never said a word. Nor did they when I once purchased a "balloon" from the men's restroom as a kid. [I]You betcha. We used to have a much more efficient system called the trough. I've only see those in ancient buildings, like the old Tiger Stadium; I can't recall them at MSP. Shamefully, I'm pee shy and it just won't work if somebody stands next to me. davedeboston Apr 26, 11, 9:34 pm Ahh the "trough". I remember going to Red Sox games as a kid and Fenway had a trough that was huge. Pretty disgusting at the seventh inning stretch after many many beers. haha right there with you on that one. I actually just googled it to see when they disappeared since I remember seeing less and less of them at Fenway over the years. Looks like they ripped em out around 1999. Crazyhotelguy Apr 26, 11, 9:53 pm I have to say it..... In before the lock:) QueerEyeForDelta Apr 26, 11, 10:05 pm I have to say it..... In before the lock:) Oh nooo... back to the OPs question. Let's help out all male MSP DL travelers by trying to identify that men's room so that we can be prepared! cfwolfs Apr 27, 11, 3:53 am I once walked off a red-eye in Atlanta and right into the woman's restroom. I seem to recall that the figures for men and women were both blue, but now the women's is pink... Singleflyer Apr 27, 11, 10:40 am I forgot exactly which airport, but I think it is MCI. I walked into the Men's room and it had pink tile, but it had urinals hang on the wall. I double checked I was in the right place since the pink tile through me off. No. There are such restrooms at other airports in the US where there are more toilets than urinals in them. jimrpa Apr 30, 11, 11:10 am Sadly +1 from me, @ IAH. I had to pee so bad it wasn't until I found myself washing my hands next to two females, that I thought something was up. Sad thing was my friend I was traveling with watched me run right in! I've never understood why we have to segregate restrooms by sexes. With a bit of appropriate interior planning, there should be no reason all restrooms can't be unisex. I mean, come on, the stalls are totally enclosed, so there's no privacy issues. There's hardly anything indecent about washing one's hands so I just don't see the big deal here. You could locate the urinals/trough off to one side, behind a modesty wall and be done with it. I think it would be a lot fairer to the ladies. Junior Varsity Apr 30, 11, 1:09 pm I would hope there are no urinals in a woman's restroom (but I've never been inside one). Guess you haven't been in a women's or unisex restroom in Asia. My wife was definitely taken back by the female urinal in a NRT restroom. I've also seen then in a unisex restroom in Taiwan. |
