Hey there JetBlue FFs - I have never flown on JetBlue but just booked my parents a trip from EWR-MCO. My dad can't walk well and has an electric wheelchair, so I told JetBlue and they said they can put him in either row 1 or 6 to be close to the front of the plane. I had them assigned into row 1, but I am a little skeptical on the legroom, as SeatGuru has those seats in YELLOW (Be Aware) and says people find the legroom in the bulkhead restricting. Can anyone comment on which row would be a better option? I am fine moving them to row 6, my dad can make it there... esp if there is more legroom!

Thanks for any insight!

The difference is how far one can extend their legs forward. At the knees row 1 has more room. But if you like to straighten your legs under the seat in front of you then row 1 is very bad as there is a wall there; row 6 would be much better in this case.

Basically it depends on what position your father is more comfortable in.

If legroom is a priority, you might also consider paying the (relatively small) EML upcharge and picking row 2-5 (38" vs 34" in row 6).

Also, row 1 has no floor storage and fixed armrests.

My parents are about 5'5" and 5'7" - not sure they need the EML section... The upgrade is $35 per seat, each way... plus their airfare was already pretty expensive for the short EWR-MCO flight - so I can't really justify an additional $140.

Not sure if the bulkhead will be annoying - I prefer to put my feet under the seat in front of me... but I didn't know if JetBlue travelers really enjoyed row 1 or would opt for a regular row (like 6) instead... this usually isn't an issue for me as I am usually in United's Economy Plus - and all their bulkheads have cutouts for your feet as well!

Personally, I prefer row 1 unless on a redeye. I like having no one reclining into me and I value that more than extending my legs unless I'm trying to sleep for a few hours.

Ask your father which he would prefer and book it.

similar question, but in row 1 where are the TVs ?? I'm thinking of sitting there with the little kids and am afraid they wont get their own personal tv so they dont fight.

thanks in advance.

They're on the wall directly in front of you.

The TVs are mounted on the bulkhead wall.

The only real downsides to row 1 are that you have to put your stuff in overhead storage at the beginning and end of the flight (Crewmembers are VERY good about helping you with this, or doing it for you), and the tray tables aren't as convenient, at least in my opinion. The upside is that you're first off the plane and no one can lean back into you.
