Suggestions - X is doing Y. Will Z respond?

For X, Y, and Z, fill in some arbitrary supplier and action, then post the thread in the Z forum.

Am I the only one who finds these threads useless and cluttering? I wonder why there is any reason for them to exist.

No way, José. IMO they are speculative and tedious, adding nothing to knowledge or better flying.

Not alone exactly but obviously a small crowd!:D Speculation threads allow people to do just that & while not a fan, at least they are easy to avoid.
