Hawaii - 2 Days on Maui leaving May 2nd

I fly from Columbus to Phoenix to Maui on Monday via US Airways, I have my cheap rental set up via Alamo and hotel looks like the Mana Kai Resort in southern Kihel.

My 1st morning Tuesday should I go to crater to see the sunrise or should I drive the Hana Hwy? I know if I go to Hana that will take up the better part of the day. Or maybe I should go to the crater on Wends morning since I am leaving on Wends night back to PHX.

God so many choices so little time.
