Las Vegas - Car rental vs shuttle to the strip
I want to know how long it takes to get from the airport to Caesars palace on a shuttle bus? I have never taken the a shuttle bus in vegas before, I am sure there are about 4 or 5 casino stops before mine. But I am contemplating a car rental for 2 days instead of taking a shuttle, if its like 30-45 mins, then i will take the shuttle, but if its like 1 hr or longer then I will get a car.
Dont want a taxi, it will cost about the same as the rental with tip and everything.

I always take shuttles. Since you are going to a strip hotel, it should take no more than 30-45 minutes. Of course, it depends on how many people are on your shuttle and if they are all going to different casinos.

I took one to Harrahs, which is right across the street. It took almost an hour, but was also the very last stop.

What is the value of your time? A taxi will take 15 or 20 minutes. A shuttle will take maybe an hour and include an unwanted tour of the MGM, New York New York, the Monte Carlo, Paris, Bally's, Bellagio, etc., all of which stand between the airport and Caesar's, just so you can save $10. I hate the Vegas shuttles.

I hate the Vegas shuttles.Amen. Perhaps if they were free. Ooops silly me, I just used 'free' and 'Vegas' in the same post. The car rentals are now consolidated off-airport so you have to take a shuttle there anyway.
C'mon, it's Las Vegas; take a cab.

Rent a car...stay off strip...priceless.

You are right, my time in Vegas is valuable, since its only a weekend trip from ORF, but I was thinking renting car so I can try that now world famous Thai resturant of the strip, but I guess it can wait till next time, but thanks for putting this into perspective.
