Hello,

I have a couple reward nights I'm planning to use, and I'm wondering how taxes are calculated on Wyndham Reward nights in the US & Canada? Is it:

1) Similar to Hertz and the airlines, where the base rate is zero making any percentage taxes zero but flat fee taxes are still added on?

2) Given a full value/rack rate for the base rate and taxed as such?

3) Something else entirely?

Thanks.

I haven't been charged tax on a reward night at a property in the U.S.

I don't believe I have ever paid tax on a hotel award. It's more of an airline thing...

Good Morning - All hotels have a designated tier level from 6,000 - 16,000 points per night within US & Canada (excluding Travelodge Canada and Wyndham Locations). Wyndham Hotels and Resorts are from 6,000 - 45,000 points per night.

Free night stays included a standard room for a single or double occupancy with all taxes. The only charges that may occur is any incidentals like room service, safe warranties or telephone access.

if i make a phone call from the hotel, do i earn any points on miles (on reward stay?)

With a free night stay you will not earn points, as they are given on room rate only.

What about resort fees, for those hotels, like ones right next to Disneyland, that charge them (on all paid stays -- not optional) in addition to room rate and taxes? Are those included or extra?

All of our properties, other than Wyndham Hotel and Resorts, only give credit for qualifying room rate only.
Wyndham Hotel and Resort locations will give credit for total folio, therefore at those locations you would receive credit for resort fees.

Hope that makes sense.
