US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - solvency question -- what happens to international tix?

Thinking about having a LGW-CLT flight booked for my mother in law to come over to see her grandson-- November, 2004.
What happens if USAirways stops flying that route or they go out of business?
Not too many other airlines do that routing, let alone non-stop.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

You don't really have any incentive to book a November transatlantic trip this far in advance. Sales will come up in September or so. Why not wait and see?
(I would not bet that far ahead on US, BTW...)

Thanks for answering the question I asked and the one I forgot to ask -- when to buy the fare.
however, she must travel on somewhat specific days (around thanksgiving).
She is going to check on charters to MYR (golf junkets abound).
Thanks

I thought if you bought with a credit card, most CC companies would return the money, even though the date for the request might come more than 60 days after the purchase (the typical 'complaint' window).
You might also look into travel insurance, if it covers the airline not flying anymore.
