Having a heck of time planning out a return from BKK to the states. Most of the evening flights from BKK to FRA/MUC/ARN/OSL etc. have limited availability in J or C. (Reward ticket)

If we take the afternoon flight on TG from BKK to FRA in J and arrive that evening (with a next morning connection to NYC on LH in J) will we be provided any hotel/accommodation options in FRA for the evening?

No - not even if you are on a revenue ticket, not to even mention FF redemption ticket...

Thanks - we were afraid of that.

Hopefully some other flight options open up.

Did you try BKK-HKG-FRA-NYC? or BKK-SIN-FRA-NYC

Thanks! Trying now - Unfortunately we were planning on being Phuket at the tail end of our trip. Not sure if the connections work :(

OK so here appears to be our options left... any feedback or experience is greatly appreciated :)

1. Phuket > BKK (Business)
BKK > MUC (First - Afternoon flight)
OVERNIGHT IN MUC
MUC > EWR (First - Afternoon flight)

2. Phuket > BKK (Business)
BKK > CDG or ZRH (Business - Overnight flight)
ZRH or CDG > FRA or MUC (Business)
FRA or MUC > EWR (First)

Option 1 cuts our trip a tad short as we have to depart in the early afternoon vs later that evening.

Option 2 avoids the overnight connection in MUC but doesn't allow for F and involves 4 connections.

I would take Option 1. You are redeeming for a F award...you might as well enjoy the F experience.

You will arrive home for less tired and relaxed. MUC is a very nice airport. When I did something similar last year, we arrived on TG F at MUC, checked in to the very comfortable Kempinski Hotel in the airport, and strolled over to the LH F lounge the next morning for a nice meal before catching our LH flights to Canada. Baggage was checked through so it was right off the TG plane and into the hotel in 15 minutes max.
