Iberia Airlines Iberia Plus - BOS or JFK for Iberia Flight?
Hello. I would like some input on which location is better to make a connection to Madrid on Iberia.
My departure flight will be on AA from Chicago.
I would greatly prefer not to have to reclear security, so a terminal change would make the decision for me.
Of lesser concern is the lounge itself, but I would like to know which facility is better. I know IB uses the Virgin lounge in Boston. I think they use the BA lounge in JFK.
Can someone shed some light?

Both options imply changing terminals (B to E in BOS, 8 to 7 in JFK) and clearing again security (if my memory serves me).
Lounge-wise I prefer JFK over BOS.
Personally I’d go for BOS, specially if you have a tight connection as JFK’s delays are structural.

Thank you. I have a 4 hour layover at JFK. 2 hour at BOS. Thanks for the info on the terminal change.

4hr should normally do in JFK and the lounge is much nicer (pre-flight dinner, spa, booze galore etc.).
Enjoy Madrid!
Why not just take the ORD flight and avoid the connection?

Hi,
Also as an AA plat you could use the BA lounge at BOS ( just along the corridor from the virgin clubhouse)
As alanw said, the non stop route from ORD might well be better ( if pricing is the same)

I find the international terminal in BOS to be very nice. Airside is a bit cramped during peak times, but generally the IB flights are off to the side of the more commonly used gates, giving it more space during boarding.
Getting from B2 (AA domestic) to E (intl terminal) is a 5-10 minute walk (or bus ride). Having the choice of the the BA and VS lounge is nice. For the somewhat small size of the terminal, BOS has some nice lounges in my opinion. No windows in any lounge though.
BOS, with a smaller airport, might be more convenient overall. But in the event of delay or cancellation, JFK might have more alternatives.

You don't always have the option when redeeming a business class award for 3 people.
