I was on a Shuttle America (USAirways Express) flight from Pit to Erie and the FA told me that last week UA bought a 50% interest in Shuttle America. I know they are independent ftom US but is this a good or bad sign? Good in that UA has money to make the move, bad in that they are hedging against a US collapse.

Without knowing for sure, I would guess that the FA was referring to the fact that Shuttle America will start running some of the UAX flights. As far as I know, they didn't buy any share of the airline though.
