Hotel Deals - Minimal price difference for Travelocity/Expedia Guarantee?

Hello,

I'm relatively new to this site so I apologize if I have chosen incorrect topic - after some browsing around I was not able to find a better place.

My question is what is what is (if exists) a minimum price difference in order to make Expedia / Travelocity price guarantee to work? Specifically if one hotel lists a room in Toronto for USD88.77 and the other for USD88.16 for exactly the same hotel/dates/room type is it a valid claim? A reasonable person would definitely say that the difference is most certainly attributable to a difference in exchange rates, but on the other side rules are rules and $88.16 is lower than $88.77 and both prices are quoted at the same time in US currency and available to general public.

Has anyone had experience with such claims? And if not what is your general sence whether it would work or not?

Thanks for your advice!
Denis

I did an Expedia BRG 2 weeks ago where the difference was only 23 cents. It was processed with no problem. I think as long as it is at least 1 cent it would be valid...

No. I've had a BRG on air-fare, which went down (on Expedia's own site) by 25 cents. Came out ahead with a $50 coupon :). If you tell them you don't want the price difference, just the coupon, it's a lot easier, since they don't have to fill out forms and it will not be shown in your account as a BRG coupon, but rather something like a customer courtesy coupon.

I've done a 18 cent one. She said she had to talk to help desk or something to do the brg and price match, i said ignore the pricematch and if should do do the coupon for me. She dropped a $50 travel coupon and i said thx.
