US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - UPGRADE ON US/UA CODE SHARE??

HOPING THAT A SEASONED USAIR FFLYER WOULD KNOW IF MILEAGE OR, STATUS UPGRADES WOULD SERVE TO UPGRADE A DOMESTIC SEGMENT ON UNITED METAL LISTED AS A USAIR FLIGHT?
IS THE SPACE STILL HELD IN E CLASS?

UA will accept credit card, cash or check for your upgrade payment.

You have to buy E-Upgrades on United; US Airways E-Upgrades don't work. I don't think you can upgrade a paid United flight with US Airways miles, although you can get an award ticket on United that's first or business class with US Airways miles.

I need your help and the infinite wisdom that can be find here on flyertalk.
I tried to search, but couldn't find the answer. I have a US ticket on UA metal, can I use a UA coupon to upgrade? ie a SWU or a region 1 upgrade?

btw was also wondering if as gold preferred, we are allowed to use the Business/First or *Gold lines? on the web page it only says for Chairmans not for gold... ( I am scared of the answer! Waiting in Line like everyone else! Argh! lol)

From my own experience, the answer to your question is YES. When you fly on United, as a UA or US Codeshare, they will want UA upgrades.

The caveat: You must use the FF# of the airline on which you wish to upgrade. Meaning, if you want to use that UG on UA metal, even as a US Codeshare, you must have your UA FF# as the one in your record.

This is incorrect. US elites can buy upgrades on UA and keep their US FF # in the record.
