US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Any new account sign up bonuses offered?

My step son let all his miles expire some time ago. I was hoping he could start over with a new account if there were any sign up bonuses for new Dividend Miles members available. He is booking two tickets online today. Sorry for the short notice (college kids!)

* signup for e-statements by 3/31 for 1k

have him sign up for united's college plus. he will get 10K miles upon graduation ( i dont know how soon that is). he can also get US miles credited into that account, and with the pending *A acceptance of US, should be even less of a problem

maybe get him to sign up for one of th credit cards too?
