Hello everyone.
I am curious as to whether any new hotels are going to be opening in the coming months in the Orlando / Kissimmee / Daytona Beach area.
It is difficult going on all the hotel sites, and I thought that someone local would have a better answer.
Thanks again in advance.

As far as Orlando/Lake Buena Vista/kissimmee are concerned, the answer is probably, although that is just an educated guess.

Still waiting for a Fairmont hotel to open in this area.. I know executives have their eyeballs peeled.. All the while, don't mind the excellent condo deals at Vista Cay.. we scored $100 per night for a 2,100 sq ft condo backing on the lake, with granite kitchen, leather sofa's, 3 bedrooms, etc.
The new Four Seasons in Disney's Golden Oak was supposed to be opening by now but has been delayed until 2014.

Wow.. Four Seasons at Walt Disney World.. I guess we can book through Virtuoso agents.
This will be a nice addition to the collection of hotels there.^

I'm glad to see it opening. The location is pretty good, and Golden Oak, from what I've seen, is really pretty.
I'm also hoping there is some real luxury competition. Disney, as you probably know, charges 4* prices for a 3 star experience, if that much. I think the Ritz charges less, though it's a bit far from Disney.
In any event, I think it will be interesting.

"In about two years, you'll have a new, pricey option when the luxury hotel operator Four Seasons opens up a $360 million resort inside Disney's Orlando theme park."
The map here shows the Golden Oak development SE of Bay Lake.:

I don't think I would call that "inside Disney's Orlando Theme park" by a long shot. It's like saying Downtown Disney is "inside" EPCOT. If there were a hotel actually inside (or walk-out-the-door adjacent like Grand Californian at Disneyland), they could could charge a fortune.

Actually, I don't even think it's on Disney property, or if it is, it's on land that hadn't been used except for a golf course.
There used to be a gate right passed Ft. Wilderness that was the "official" entrance to Disney world from that side of the property. The gate's been gone for several years.
Golden Oak is right outside that gate area. I think the golf course was considered Disney property, and perhaps the new homes technically are on property, but there's nothing else in that area. A few miles down the road are all the employee services areas, as well as the monorail repair shop and several other required services for a "city" of that size.
IMHO, it's actually pretty well located for the Magic Kingdom. It's only a bit away from Ft. Wilderness and the Wilderness Lodge. I'll bet they will somehow get boat access to the park like all the other MK hotels.
